Alternative Names

Adding an alternative name to an individual can be very useful, especially if someone in your family tree was known by two names.

1. Double-click on an individual to open the 'Edit Individual' window
2. Click the 'Alt Name' button to bring up the Add Alternate Name box
3. Enter their alt name into the boxes shown, then click 'Save'

Once an alternative name has been added, you will see that there is now a dropdown menu for 'Display Name' at the top of the 'Edit Individual' window. You can choose which name you would prefer to display by clicking on the dropdown box and choosing their Primary or Alternative name.
